Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja ending Ski Classics Season XVII
Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja course change
Due to troublesome snow conditions in the final section of the original course close to Finnsnes, the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja will take place this winter on an adjusted course, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) confirmed today.
The 13th and final Ski Classics Pro Tour event of Season XVII will be held as planned on Sunday, March 29, 2026, but on an updated course with both start and finish in Bardufoss, Norway.
The updated course will be a single 60km loop, preserving many of the event's key competitive elements. The Sprint checkpoint will be at Austtjønnmyra after 11km, as in the ordinary plan, while the Climb checkpoint is moved to Berrskallen after 33km. The Climb will, however, be downgraded from an Iconic Climb to a standard one, affecting the points awarded.
Berrskallen is renowned for its beautiful setting, offering spectacular views over the Solbergfjord, as well as over Senja and Finnsnes.
"We are working closely with the Local Organizing Committee to deliver the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja in the best possible way. The LOC has worked hard to maintain the original course with the finish in Finnsnes, but ultimately, last month's warm weather in northern Norway made it impossible. Saturday's Resitadlopet will, however, be held on the original course," says Ski Classics Director Oskar Svärd.
